Anyone?

I have a bizarre question for u readers....have any of you ever driven bare foot? Due to a range of weirdly embarrassing reasons I ended up doing that recently. Once my shoes were off, for the first minute or two I miss judged the pedals a bit as I was used to my feet being in a certain position - now there was nothing to lean against the floor and my feet were sort of in the air over the pedals but after getting over the disconcertedness (such a word?), the sensation felt quite free. It made me grateful that cars are not made from glass as I am not sure what other drivers on the road would have made of it. Then again the thought at what I was doing and knowing that no other drivers were aware got me giggling to myself....so any other nutters out there? :)

Sounds like fun! I never drove barefoot, but I once put my feet up on the dashboard for about 4+ hours while my mother drove. For months afterward, my father was asking how there came to be footprints on the windshield...

Lol FR. Nope, never done that but that must have felt really interesting. The only similarly funny thing I can think of is that I know someone that drives with two feet. I kid you not. One foot on the gas pedal, one on the brakes. Just like the go-karts.
BTW, I'm quite curious as to the circumstances surrounding the need to drive barefoot...

I do it often. Whenever I run out of the house with Chinese slippers (if I'm just driving someone and not getting out of the car). If I drive with them on, they wind up stuck to the pedals and my feet slide off. So I take them off and drive with my bare feet. :-D
Join the club..... (uh oh! Dangerous words coming from me...)

Scraps: Lol...I agree that would be an interesting talking point how it got up there ;)

HS: I use 2 feet 2 ... but then I drive clutch! Regards to why?...that would start off some dangerous ideas :)

SD: Ooh, never been invited to a club b4, what do I have to do????

Nope, never driven barefoot, but had a way more wacky situation...

So my family was driving to my cousin's house in Canada, and somewhere along the 10 hour monotony, we all lost a few marbles. After some time of cracking up over my sister's renaming of every town we passed to include some version of her name, we noticed someone in the lane next to our car with their feet propped up on the dashboard barefoot. So my dad promptly whips off his socks and proceeds to do the same (don't worry, my mum was driving!!). But turns out, that wasn't enough...so he opens up the window....

I'll stop there. You get the picture :-P Needless to say there were a few double-takes made by those driving near us...

Welcome to my family. :-D

I've driven barefoot, usually bec the alternative was driving in heels which was painful. I also just found myself grinning at the novel experience the first time, though it took me a bit to get used to.

I agree, being barefoot feels nice, especially on warm days.
Plus, the feeling of standing on water like at the beach

Ivnsm: I love being barefoot too. the first thing I do when I get home is kick off my shoes.

Anon: Hmm... thanks for the pointer, No clue what the English law is. But I will be careful, not something I usually do.
